A leading Health System is looking to bring on a Senior Counsel to their team focused on labor relations and union matters. This organization is among the largest healthcare providers in the country by both size and revenue generation and supports operations across numerous states, including Nevada, Tennessee, Florida, and Alaska. This role sits within a seasoned legal team of more than 150 attorneys, supporting a complex, union-heavy workforce.

In this role, you will work alongside other Labor Counsels, as well as outside counsel, to advise on a range of traditional labor matters. The role offers significant exposure to high-impact labor strategy and requires the ability to support matters at facilities across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and manage NLRB charges, labor arbitrations, and unfair labor practice claims.
  • Oversee and support collective bargaining negotiations and interpretation and adminstration of CBAs.
  • Partner with operational leaders on labor strategy, union activity, and workforce initiatives.
  • Manage outside counsel in connection with labor disputes and negotiations.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on labor relations issues arising in a large, unionized healthcare system.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 10+ years of experience with labor matters in a union-heavy environment.
  • Experience responding to NLRB matters, arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Preference for candidates from a healthcare background (not required).
  • Barred in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • Located in Nashville, TN or ability to relocate to Nashville.
