Labor and Employment Associate
Job Description:
I am assisting a law firm on a Labor and Employment Associate search to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters and will be comfortable managing both counseling and litigation responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, workplace policies, employee classification, and leave laws.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and state labor departments.
- Assist in all phases of employment litigation and arbitration, including:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Preparing and responding to written discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Supporting trial and arbitration preparation and proceedings
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on employment-related risk management.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement workplace policies and training programs.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Florida bar
- 2-5 years of relevant labor and employment law experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and other employment-related statutes.
- A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
