We are working with a leading international law firm with a top tier Employment practice, seeking to recruit a senior Employment Lawyer for its London office. The team advises on highly complex and high‑value employment matters, often with a cross‑border and transactional focus.
The role
This is a senior position within a high performing employment team supporting major corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and senior executives. The role offers a mix of strategic advisory work, contentious matters, and employment support on major transactions, with significant client and partner interaction.
Key responsibilities
- Advising clients on complex employment law issues including senior exits, workforce restructuring, and executive disputes
- Leading on employment aspects of corporate and private equity transactions, working closely with corporate, funds, and tax teams
- Advising on TUPE, restructurings, redundancies, and post‑acquisition integration
- Handling sensitive and high‑risk Employment Tribunal claims and negotiated settlements
- Drafting and negotiating senior executive service agreements, incentive arrangements, and settlement documentation
- Advising on employment law issues across multiple jurisdictions with support from international teams
- Providing strategic and commercially focused advice to boards, HR directors, and senior stakeholders
- Playing a key role in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to practice development
Candidate profile
- England and Wales qualified solicitor, typically 6+ years PQE
- Strong employment law experience gained at a leading international or US law firm
- Proven experience advising on employment matters in a transactional and private equity context
- Comfortable operating at pace and handling complex, high‑value matters
