Corporate Paralegal
Position Overview
The Paralegal will support a dynamic legal team by managing a variety of legal, administrative, and operational tasks. This role requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively and independently under the direction of legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, evaluate, summarize, edit, and help negotiate contracts across various areas such as transportation, IT, confidentiality agreements, employment, and real estate.
- Maintain and organize contract records and databases.
- Serve as a point of contact for the insurance broker regarding routine matters like insurance certificates and coverage inquiries.
- Track and verify insurance invoices to ensure timely payments.
- Support the renewal of complex insurance policies by gathering internal data, completing applications, reviewing quotes, and preparing comparison summaries.
- Analyze claims data using the current claims system and report insights.
- Collect and organize documents related to claims and third-party requests, including subpoenas.
- Draft and revise demand letters and notices related to claims.
- Assist in negotiations with external vendors when necessary.
- Review towing invoices and coordinate documentation for equipment release.
- Compose correspondence and handle overflow phone calls for the legal team.
- Help manage real estate documentation and tracking spreadsheets (leases, titles, closings, appraisals, surveys, etc.).
- Support freight charge recovery efforts through demand letters, bond filings, settlement negotiations, and agreement preparation.
- Ensure vendor contracts are correctly labeled and stored in the central system.
- Provide administrative assistance for merger and acquisition activities.
- Maintain calendars and scheduling for legal staff.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports to external parties such as agencies, vendors, and auditors.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a paralegal or contract management role
- Skilled in drafting, negotiating, and revising contracts
- Highly motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced work environment
