Corporate Counsel - Global Manufacturing Leader

A well-established global manufacturer is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team at its Long Island headquarters.

This attorney will take on a highly visible, business-facing role supporting a broad range of commercial, corporate, compliance, and strategic matters across the organization. The position offers direct interaction with business leaders, significant responsibility from day one, and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor across multiple functions.

The legal team is collaborative, close-knit, and deeply integrated with the business. This role will serve as the primary legal partner for commercial transactions and contracts while also providing exposure to corporate governance, acquisition activity, compliance initiatives, and other key legal matters. It is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking broader business involvement and long-term growth within a stable organization. The role is based in Melville, NY and operates on a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one day remote.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Advise business stakeholders on contractual risk, negotiation strategy, and legal issues.
  • Support corporate governance initiatives and general corporate legal matters.
  • Assist with compliance-related projects and policy development.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions activity, including due diligence and transaction support.
  • Partner with internal teams across sales, operations, human resources, and leadership functions.
  • Identify practical solutions that balance legal risk and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar license
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with in-house exposure
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Background in a law firm, in-house legal department, or combination of both.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and business partnering skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing, distribution, licensing, real estate, or employment matters is a plus.
