Claims Management Counsel
Our client is seeking a fully remote Claims Management and Coverage Counsel to join theirdynamic national team. In this role, you will provide strategic guidance on claims, coverage analysis, and risk management across a range of specialty and professional insurance lines. You'll independently manage complex claims and coverage matters, focusing on resolution strategies that minimize legal exposure.
This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload from initial claim notification through resolution
- Analyze coverage, liability, and damages for complex matters including professional liability, employment practices, real estate, miscellaneous liability, and D&O
- Draft reservation of rights and denial letters
- Monitor claims proactively and develop resolution strategies
- Coordinate and manage outside counsel to achieve optimal outcomes
- Prepare client reports with exposure analysis and reserve recommendations
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations
- Collaborate with attorneys and partners on legal projects
- Maintain regular communication with clients, carriers, and outside counsel
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience in insurance law
- Experience drafting coverage letters and legal opinions is a plus
- Background in private practice preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research and negotiation abilities
- Proficient in interpreting insurance policies and identifying legal risks
- Highly organized with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
