An AmLaw 100 employment law platform is seeking an experienced Employment Law attorney to join its innovative, fully remote Charges Defense team. This is a standout opportunity for attorneys who want sophisticated employment work, national clients, and a highly reduced billable requirement that allows for real work-life balance without sacrificing engagement or quality of matters.

This role is ideal for employment attorneys with significant EEOC and administrative agency charge experience who enjoy charge defense, client counseling, and written advocacy, but are seeking an alternative to traditional law firm pressure and partnership-track expectations. Unlike many Labor & Employment roles, this position is not litigation focused and is best suited for attorneys who prefer administrative defense work, investigations, and counseling over courtroom practice.

What You Will Do

Attorneys in this role independently manage and defend administrative agency charges and attorney demand letters from investigation through resolution. The work is fast-paced, substantive, and client-facing, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, judgment, and written advocacy.

Responsibilities include:

* Drafting persuasive position statements and responses to agency investigations
* Responding to agency requests for information
* Managing EEOC, state agency, and other administrative charges from intake through resolution
* Regular client communication and strategic counseling
* Representing clients in settlement negotiations and remote mediations
* Managing multiple matters efficiently through a proprietary, data-driven workflow
* Providing practical risk management and employment law guidance to employers

What We Are Looking For

Strong candidates typically bring:

* Six or more years of management-side employment law experience
* Significant experience handling EEOC, state, and other administrative agency charges on behalf of employers
* Experience managing a high-volume charges practice, ideally handling 20+ agency charges annually
* Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
* Strong experience drafting position statements and responding to agency investigations
* Experience representing clients in mediations, settlement conferences, or hearings
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger national team
* An active law license in the candidate's state of residence

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive base salary ranging approximately from $140,000 to $175,000, reflecting the lower billable requirement, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
