Position Overview
The Assistant General Counsel will provide legal support for real estate transactions, lending activities, and related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate documents for commercial and multi-family real estate transactions.
- Structure and document loan agreements, security instruments, and related financing documents.
- Advise on acquisition, development, and disposition of real estate assets.
- Provide legal guidance on affordable housing programs and compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist with title, survey, and due diligence review for real estate transactions.
- Support closing processes for loans and property transactions, including coordination with internal teams and external counsel.
- Address legal issues related to construction financing, permanent financing, and refinancing.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the U.S.
- 5+ years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on commercial and multi-family transactions and lending activities.
- Strong understanding of financing structures and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
