AML Compliance Officer
A private credit and investment management firm in New York City is seeking a senior AML/KYC leader to serve as the firm's AML Compliance Officer and oversee all aspects of financial crime compliance. This role is responsible for directing the client onboarding program, managing regulatory due diligence, and ensuring full adherence to AML, BSA, and KYC requirements across a sophisticated institutional investor base. The position requires a strategic, hands‑on leader who can design and enhance the firm's AML framework, guide cross‑functional teams, and act as the primary authority on AML matters for internal stakeholders, regulators, and external partners. The ideal candidate brings deep investment management experience, strong judgment, and the ability to drive a high‑quality, risk‑focused compliance program in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
10+ years of AML/KYC experience in investment management, private credit, or private equity
Strong knowledge of AML/BSA rules, investor due diligence, sanctions screening, and beneficial ownership
Lead end‑to‑end onboarding, enhanced due diligence, and periodic KYC refresh
Manage AML/KYC content for RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs
Maintain and enhance AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls
Partner with Investor Relations, Operations, Legal, and Compliance on onboarding and monitoring
Coordinate with administrators and service providers on AML/KYC matters
Track regulatory developments and assess program impact
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
CAMS or similar certification preferred
