Administrative Agency Charges Attorney
Administrative Agency Charges Attorney
About the Role
Our client, a large management-side labor & employment law firm, is seeking experienced attorneys to join its pre-litigation charges team. This is a full-time, deadline-driven role focused on representing employer-clients through the administrative agency charge process from initial response through resolution.
Attorneys in this group handle a high volume of employment law charges across federal, state, and local agencies, with a primary focus on drafting position statements in response to charges of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and related claims. The work also includes settlement negotiations and participation in virtual mediations. This is distinct from advice and counsel or traditional litigation work: candidates should have direct, hands-on experience responding to administrative agency charges such as the EEOC or state equivalents.
The practice group offers a structured, supportive environment with clear advancement opportunities, including progression from Counsel to Special Counsel to Senior Counsel, as well as Team Lead and Client Lead designations.
Compensation
Our client offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and geography. The posted salary range reflects the full scope of eligible candidates; actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of Labor & Employment experience with direct, substantive experience responding to administrative agency charges and drafting position statements - advice and counsel work and general litigation experience alone will not satisfy this requirement
- Active bar license in your state of residence and in at least one of the following states: [CA, OH, CO, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, VT, WA, and Washington, DC]. Candidates who would need to obtain a new license to meet this requirement will not be considered.
- Experience representing management/employer interests in a law firm or comparable setting
- J.D. from an accredited law school
Ideal Background
The strongest candidates will have spent the bulk of their careers at large law firms handling administrative agency charges on the management side. Our client is specifically seeking attorneys whose experience is centered on the charge response process, not those whose practice has been primarily advice and counsel, general employment litigation, plaintiff-side work, or government agency roles.
