Senior Litigation Counsel
A leading automotive retail company is seeking seeking a Litigation Counsel to join their in-house legal team. This role will focus on managing and resolving claims litigation and overseeing legal aspects of collection practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in the automotive, retail, or financial services sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of litigation matters, including personal injury claims, property damage, and consumer disputes.
- Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on pre-litigation and litigation matters.
- Collaborate with outside counsel, monitor case progress, and ensure alignment with company objectives and budgets.
- Advise internal stakeholders on compliance with federal and state laws related to collections, including the FDCPA, FCRA, and UDAAP.
- Draft and review pleadings, discovery responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Support internal investigations and respond to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and customer complaints.
- Develop and implement litigation and collections policies and training programs.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the automotive and retail finance industries.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
- 5+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on claims and collections.
- Strong knowledge of consumer protection laws and litigation procedures
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
