My client is a leading and growing Renewables Firm and we are recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel professional to be based in the Tokyo office.
Responsibilities for this Senior Legal Counsel - Renewables Energy Firm, Japan role
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of project agreements, including land agreements (leases, surface rights, easements), EPC/BOP contracts, PPAs, supply agreements and other key project documentation.
- Provide end-to-end legal support across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development through financial close, construction and commercial operation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (engineering, finance, development, permitting) to provide integrated and practical legal solutions.
Requirements for this Senior Legal Counsel - Renewables Energy Firm, Japan role
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent law qualification
- 15+ years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding and knowledge in energy / renewables sector
- Strong stakeholder management skills
