Senior Commercial Counsel
Larson Maddox is exclusively partnermed with a leading national title insurance organization that is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to support its National Commercial Services function, advising on complex, high-liability commercial real estate transactions across multiple jurisdictions. This role sits at the intersection of legal, underwriting, and deal execution, providing practical guidance to facilitate transactions while maintaining a disciplined risk framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex and high-liability commercial real estate transactions
- Evaluate transactional risk and determine insurability, including drafting and advising on appropriate requirements, exceptions, and endorsements
- Identify legal and title risks and develop practical, insurable solutions that enable transactions to move forward
- Serve as a primary point of contact for agents, examiners, escrow teams, and internal stakeholders on active commercial files
- Provide practical guidance regarding title, survey, and closing issues in sophisticated transactions
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in Florida(preferred)
- 10+ years of experience handling commercial real estate and/or title insurance matters, ideally within a national or multi-state platform
- Strong familiarity with title insurance principles, endorsements, and closing practices
- Experience working with title agents, national accounts, and multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows while maintaining attention to detail and risk awareness
