Litigation Attorney
We are partnered with a highly respected healthcare-focused legal team that provides expert defense services to physicians and healthcare organizations. Our client is seeking two Litigation Attorneys-one based in Los Angeles and one in Orange County. These roles involve managing all aspects of case preparation and litigation strategy, excluding trial and arbitration presentation. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of medical malpractice law, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop effective defense strategies in complex cases. Though medical malpractice experience is preferred for this position, a successful candidate can also come from a more general civil litigation background.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with trial attorneys to formulate discovery and investigation strategies.
- Prepare pleadings, respond to discovery requests, and attend court appearances.
- Assist in preparing cases for trial or arbitration, including drafting motions.
- Represent physicians at depositions in "Depo-only" cases.
- Respond to hotline inquiries from the Claims Department and provide timely litigation updates.
Qualifications
- J.D. and license to practice law in California.
- Minimum 3-6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience.
- Experience mentoring and training junior attorneys preferred.
