Compliance Data Strategy Manager
A leading global investment bank is seeking a Compliance Data Strategy Manager to shape, enhance, and execute its data strategy across the Compliance function. This is a high‑impact role that sits at the intersection of Compliance, Data, and Technology, driving how the organisation captures, manages, analyses, and leverages data to meet regulatory obligations and strengthen risk management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Compliance data strategy, ensuring alignment with the bank's broader data governance and architecture frameworks.
- Partner with Surveillance, Monitoring & Testing, Financial Crime, Regulatory Change, and Compliance Technology to optimise data flows and ensure consistent data quality.
- Lead initiatives to enhance data lineage, data taxonomy, and metadata standards across Compliance systems.
- Support the design and adoption of new data models, reporting tools, and analytics solutions used for regulatory reporting, monitoring, and risk assessments.
- Oversee data controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with Technology teams on system enhancements, data integration projects, and platform migration initiatives.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on compliance‑related data requirements for new products, regulatory changes, and internal transformation programmes.
- Develop dashboards and insights that support effective oversight, trend analysis, and decision‑making across Compliance leadership.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience within a Compliance, Data Governance, or Risk/Data Strategy function within a global bank or large financial institution.
- Deep understanding of Compliance data needs (e.g., surveillance, monitoring, employee compliance, regulatory reporting, trade/communications data).
- Proven experience designing or executing enterprise‑level data strategies or data transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality concepts, and regulatory expectations around data management.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into structured data and reporting solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across Compliance, Front Office, Risk, and Technology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with data tooling (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau/Power BI, or enterprise data platforms) is advantageous but not essential.
