The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Commercial Associate to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing commercial practice renowned for advising major corporates, financial institutions, technology companies, real estate groups, and fast‑growth businesses.

You will gain broad exposure to complex commercial advisory and transactional matters, working closely with partners recognised for their expertise across commercial contracts, regulatory issues, technology, outsourcing, and cross-border projects.


Key Responsibilities

You will work across a wide range of commercial matters, including:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts such as supply agreements, distribution arrangements, services contracts, outsourcing, technology agreements, and procurement documentation
  • Advising clients on regulatory, compliance, and risk issues affecting commercial relationships
  • Supporting corporate transactions with commercial input (e.g., transitional services agreements, IP/IT schedules, operational contracts)
  • Advising on digital, tech-driven, and innovation‑related matters including data, licensing, and platform arrangements
  • Managing client relationships and providing commercially astute, solution‑driven advice
  • Contributing to business development initiatives, thought leadership, and internal knowledge sharing

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • 2-5 years PQE in commercial law from a reputable City, national, or international firm
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Solid understanding of commercial risk, contract structure, and regulatory considerations
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality output under deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with a commercial mindset

Preferred:

  • Experience within sectors such as: technology, real estate, retail, financial services, or infrastructure
  • Exposure to cross-border matters or working with multinational clients
  • Interest in supporting business development and building client relationship
