Position Overview:

A fortune 500 insurance provider is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in corporate insurance regulatory matters. This individual will play a key role in providing legal guidance and support to the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on corporate insurance regulatory matters, including compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Advise on issues related to the Insurance Holding Company System Act and ensure compliance with its provisions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct legal research and stay abreast of regulatory developments affecting theinsurance industry.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to provide strategic legal guidance and support business objectives.
  • Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other external parties.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate filings.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Provide training and education to employees on relevant legal and regulatory issues.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in at least one state.
  • 4-10 years of experience in corporate insurance regulatory matters, preferably within a large
  • law firm or corporate legal department.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Insurance Holding Company System Act.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal insurance regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
