Senior Debt Finance Attorney (Non-Partner Track)
A prestigious AmLaw 25 firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Attorney to join its Debt Finance practice in the Boston office. This non-partner track role is ideal for a seasoned finance attorney looking to take on a leadership-oriented position with lower billable hour expectations and high-impact transactional work.
This position offers the opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert, bridging the gap between junior associates and senior partners, while contributing to the continued growth of the firm's finance platform. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, academically distinguished attorney with strong drafting skills and a collaborative, business-minded approach to client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent domestic and international clients, including banks, funds, and financial institutions, in a wide range of financing transactions
- Draft and negotiate complex debt finance documents, including:
- Credit agreements
- Note purchase agreements
- Commitment letters
- Security agreements and ancillary loan documents
- Supervise junior associates in the preparation of legal opinions, corporate resolutions, and closing deliverables
- Coordinate with foreign and local counsel on cross-border transactions
- Advise on financing aspects of M&A, equity, and venture capital transactions
- Summarize key provisions of complex transaction documents for clients and internal teams
- Participate in pro bono initiatives, including housing and voting rights clinics
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 8+ years of relevant experience in debt finance at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department
- Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; ability to waive into Massachusetts preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage transactions independently and interface directly with clients
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
