Position Summary
Our client, a rapidly growing Chemical Manufacturing & Distribution Company is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Regulatory Analyst to support global regulatory compliance efforts across their portfolio of specialty chemical products. This role is responsible for evaluating product compositions, interpreting chemical regulations, and determining regulatory requirements for the import, export, distribution, and sale of products across various jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with large volumes of technical data, possesses strong chemical regulatory knowledge, and has a passion for classification, organization, and compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze chemical product compositions, raw materials, and technical documentation to determine regulatory classifications and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate whether products can be imported, exported, transported, sold, or distributed within specific states, countries, and regions.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and international chemical regulations, including regulatory inventory and reporting requirements.
- Maintain and manage regulatory databases, product records, and compliance documentation.
- Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS), technical specifications, and supplier information to ensure accurate regulatory assessments.
- Conduct regulatory research and provide guidance regarding product classifications and market access requirements.
- Support product stewardship initiatives and hazard classification activities.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Technical teams to ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on existing and future products.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives, including data management, automation, and AI-enabled classification tools.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in a regulatory, product stewardship, compliance, or chemical classification role within the chemical industry.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting chemical composition data and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Familiarity with chemical regulatory frameworks and product classification requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets and technical information.
Preferred
- Experience within specialty chemicals, adhesives, coatings, polymers, resins, or industrial chemical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of:
- TSCA
- REACH
- GHS
- OSHA Hazard Communication Standards
- Chemical inventory management
- Import/export compliance requirements
- Experience with regulatory software, product stewardship systems, or chemical compliance databases.
- Interest or experience in process automation, AI tools, or regulatory data management technology.
