In-House Commercial Contracts Counsel - Technology Company
A well-established technology company is seeking an In-House Counsel to join its lean legal team, supporting a portfolio of operating businesses. This role will focus on vendor-side commercial contracting and provide opportunity to work alongside senior legal leadership.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, managing a steady flow of contracts, and providing practical, solutions-oriented advice. This role would be based out of the company's office in Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of vendor agreements (including MSAs, SOWs, and procurement-related contracts)
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide clear, business-focused legal guidance
- Support cross-functional teams by ensuring contracts are turned efficiently and accurately
- Interface with external counsel and opposing counsel as needed
- Identify risk and propose practical solutions aligned with business objectives
- Assist with additional legal matters as they arise
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house role
- Strong background in commercial contracts (vendor/procurement experience preferred)
- Comfortable managing a high volume of agreements in a fast-paced environment
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to translate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for business teams
