A global quantitative technology firm specializing in large‑scale data analytics, machine learning, and advanced research is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its subsidiary business. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, legal risk assessment, and building scalable legal and compliance standards across rapidly evolving technical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Conduct legal and regulatory risk assessments for new infrastructure, product launches, commercial models, and global market expansion.
- Monitor, analyze, and advise on regulatory and policy developments impacting the business.
- Translate regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for product, engineering, and business teams.
- Partner with compliance, risk, and technical teams to identify gaps and support remediation.
- Develop and maintain legal and compliance standards aligned with new business lines.
- Provide senior management with clear legal risk analysis and decision‑ready recommendations.
- Manage external counsel on specialized regulatory matters to ensure efficient, practical advice.
Qualifications:
- J.D. and 3+ years of legal experience, ideally in technology, AI, cloud services, or digital infrastructure industries.
- Proficient in Mandarin and prior in-house experience is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to international regulatory or compliance matters and strong ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into clear guidance for internal stakeholders across technical and business teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities across documentation, diligence, and compliance workflows.
