My client is a leading Renewable Energy firm and we are recruiting for a Global IP Director to be based in the Japan office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead cross-regional legal and IP teams and establish an efficient and collaborative global management system.
Responsibilities for this Global IP Director (Japan)
- Implement the group's global intellectual property (patents, trademarks) layout, application, maintenance and commercialization strategies to ensure the protection of core technologies
- Lead in IP disputes including infringement litigations, invaldiation declarations, licesning negotations.
- Monitor industry technological trends and patent dynamics
- Advise on disputes and risk management and manage external counsel as necessary
- Ensure company activities in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements for this Global IP Director (Japan)
- At least 8+ years of experience in intellectual property/legal affairs
- Expereinced in intellectual property legal systems across markets
- Fluent in Japanese and English. Plus if the candidate is fluent in Mandarin
- Strategic thinking and business acumen
- Outstanding team leadership and transnational collaboration capabilities
