Employment & Labor Associate - California (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Diego | Hybrid)

A top‑tier global law firm with a strong California presence is seeking an Employment & Labor Associate (2-6 years) to join its collaborative and highly regarded Employment & Labor practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated employment litigation and counseling matters for leading local and multinational clients across industries.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in employment law and be interested in continuing to build both litigation and advisory experience within a supportive, well‑resourced platform that prioritizes professional development and long‑term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a broad range of employment litigation matters
  • Take and defend depositions and manage written discovery phases of litigation
  • Provide day‑to‑day employment and HR counseling to clients
  • Draft and review employment agreements, handbooks, policies, and severance agreements
  • Support traditional labor and NLRB matters as needed
  • Assist with employment aspects of M&A due diligence and transactions
  • Work closely with partners and clients on strategy and case management

Key Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • 2-6 years of employment litigation and counseling experience
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex matters and client relationships effectively

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: Approximately $225,000 to $345,000, depending on experience and office location
  • Competitive bonus potential

  • Title flexibility based on experience (Associate / Managing Associate / Senior Managing Associate)
