Remote Employment Litigation Counsel
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-Based)
A nationally recognized management-side employment law practice is seeking an experienced attorney to join its remote litigation team. This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys handling employment disputes and workplace-related litigation while benefiting from a flexible, fully remote work environment.
The attorney in this role will manage a variety of labor and employment matters, including agency proceedings, pre-litigation disputes, demand responses, and employment lawsuits. Working collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal professionals, the successful candidate will oversee matters from inception through resolution while providing strategic counsel to employer clients across multiple industries.
Unlike traditional litigation roles that require significant travel and court appearances, this position is designed around efficient case management, legal strategy, motion practice, and client service. Most responsibilities can be handled remotely, with limited need for in-person proceedings.
This opportunity offers a balanced practice structure with a manageable billable expectation and a steady flow of existing work. Attorneys are not expected to generate business or maintain a personal book of clients, allowing them to focus primarily on delivering exceptional legal representation and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Defend employers in workplace-related disputes and litigation matters.
- Handle administrative claims before federal, state, and local agencies.
- Draft and respond to demand letters and pre-suit claims.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Develop case strategy and evaluate exposure and settlement opportunities.
- Collaborate with partners, associates, and litigation support staff throughout all phases of representation.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case developments.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of employment law and litigation experience.
- Active bar license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of employment-related statutes and workplace regulations.
- Experience representing employers in administrative proceedings and civil litigation.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Experience
- Prior law firm experience.
- Experience handling workforce liability and management-side employment matters.
- Admission to the California Bar or ability to practice in California.
