Commercial Contracts Attorney

Key Responsibilities

Contracting & Commercial Matters

  • Serve as the lead legal contact for all company-wide contracting needs
  • Prepare, analyze, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including client-facing contracts, supplier arrangements, and confidentiality agreements
  • Create and refine standardized templates, guidance materials, and contracting workflows to enhance consistency and efficiency
  • Work closely with internal partners to structure deals and deliver practical, business-focused legal guidance
  • Oversee contract lifecycle management and help scale internal contracting capabilities

Employment & Human Resources Advisory

  • Provide counsel on a full spectrum of workplace issues, including recruitment, terminations, performance concerns, and employee relations
  • Draft and revise employment-related documents such as offer letters, employment agreements, and separation arrangements
  • Assist in developing and maintaining workplace policies and employee handbooks
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure adherence to applicable employment and labor regulations
  • Support internal employee-related matters as they arise

AI & Emerging Technology

  • Advise on legal considerations tied to the deployment and use of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies
  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of internal governance structures, policies, and controls related to AI
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting AI, fintech, and data practices

Broad Legal Support

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal teams seeking day-to-day guidance
  • Provide practical counsel on general business operations
  • Partner cross-functionally with groups such as HR, Compliance, Finance, and Technology
  • Support the development and rollout of internal policies
  • Contribute to special initiatives and strategic projects as needed

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 4 years' legal experience, gained at a top law firm and/or within an in-house legal team
  • Strong background handling commercial agreements and employment-related issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously
  • Practical, solutions-driven mindset with strong business judgment
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
  • Active New York bar admission required
