The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior General Liability Attorney to join their Dallas, TX office. This is a hands-on, strategic litigation role focused on managing complex defense matters across a range of industries, including general liability, construction, transportation, and insurance. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining flexibility with meaningful client interaction and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a complex defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including trial, mediation, and settlement
- Develop and execute case strategy, including early case assessment, discovery planning, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts
- Conduct and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and work closely with expert witnesses
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings
- Provide strategic legal advice and regular case updates to clients, including in-house counsel and insurance carriers
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex and multi-jurisdictional matters
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff
- Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit management
- Maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality, responsive legal service
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing
- 8+ years of defense litigation experience
- Experience in general liability, premises liability, product liability, construction, transportation, or insurance defense preferred
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage complex caseloads
- Trial experience (first-chair preferred, not required)
- Strong client management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
