Labor & Employment Senior Counsel - Chemical Manufacturing Industry
Our client, a global leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney to join their legal team. This role offers the opportunity to advise on complex labor and employment matters across U.S. and international operations, while partnering closely with HR and senior leadership.
Senior Counsel Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counsel on labor and employment issues including:
- Union relations and collective bargaining agreements
- Employment policies, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Workplace investigations, terminations, and disciplinary actions
- Manage and oversee employment litigation and work closely with outside counsel.
- Advise on wage and hour compliance, discrimination laws, and workplace safety regulations.
- Partner with HR and leadership on strategic workforce initiatives.
- Support global operations with international employment law issues, including cross-border compliance and expatriate assignments.
- Deliver training and guidance to management on labor and employment best practices.
Senior Counsel Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 7+ years of labor and employment law experience, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws; experience with union negotiations is highly desirable.
- International employment law experience is required (Europe, Asia, or Latin America preferred).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
