Remote Labor and Employment Attorney
An established national legal practice is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys representing employers in complex employment litigation.
This position offers the opportunity to work remotely while handling sophisticated labor and employment matters, including employment litigation, EPLI defense, and employment counseling, in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Remote Labor and Employment Responsibilities:
- Defend employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination claims
- Manage Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) matters from inception through resolution, including working directly with carriers and insured clients
- Handle administrative charges and agency proceedings before the EEOC, DOL, and comparable federal, state, and local agencies
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, position statements, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct witness interviews, take and defend depositions, and assist with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and practical, business-oriented legal counsel
Remote Labor and Employment Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 6+ years of labor and employment experience
- Significant experience handling employment litigation in state and federal courts
- Experience managing EPLI matters and representing employers in employment-related disputes
- Familiarity with EEOC charges and other administrative agency proceedings
- Strong legal writing, research, advocacy, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage client relationships and litigation matters independently
- Experience providing day-to-day employment counseling to employers preferred
