Real Estate Finance Associate - AM LAW 50 Firm
Location: New York, NY
We are seeking highly qualified mid-to senior level associates to join our Real Estate Finance practice. Candidates should have substantial experience with a combination of complex real estate financings (lender and/or borrower), joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions across a variety of real estate asset classes, including office, multi-family, industrial, retail, and hospitality. We also welcome applicants with a strong lender-side financing background who wish to continue focusing in that area.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice in New York
- 3-5+ years of Real Estate Finance experience at a law firm or in an in-house role
- Experience with complex real estate financings (lender and/or borrower)
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures across various real estate asset classes; commercial property exposure is a plus but not required
- Experience conducting title, survey, lease, and other commercial property diligence, as well as working on the origination of loans secured by commercial properties
- Experience handling large-scale financing and transaction work representing both investors and sponsors
- Exposure to REITs or private equity real estate managers is a plus
- Lender-side financing associates are encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience encompassing mortgage and mezzanine financings, bridge and construction loans, preferred equity investments, loan portfolio acquisitions and sales, and structured secondary market transactions
