Location: Long Island, NY (Onsite - 5 days/week)
Compensation: $130,000
Overview
An established organization is seeking a Legal Counsel to support U.S. commercial operations. This position will serve as the primary legal resource for the U.S. business and work closely with an international legal team.
The role requires strong commercial instincts, the ability to operate autonomously, and comfort supporting a business with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and transactional agreements
- Provide day-to-day legal support to U.S.-based business teams
- Partner closely with sales-facing stakeholders and external intermediaries
- Deliver clear, practical legal guidance aligned with business objectives
- Participate in business discussions and leadership meetings as needed
- Coordinate with non‑U.S. legal colleagues on cross-border matters
- Quickly learn and adapt to a complex operational and commercial structure
Candidate Profile
- Background in commercial contracts and/or transactional law
- Comfortable acting as the sole onshore legal resource
- Strong communication style-direct, personable, and collaborative
- Business-oriented mindset; able to balance risk with commercial needs
- Adaptable personality with strong interpersonal awareness
- Willing and able to work full-time onsite in Long Island
