Labor & Employment Attorney Counsel (Remote - Licensed in CA)
This is a unique opportunity for Labor & Employment attorneys with 6+ years of labor & employment experience who value substantive legal work, professional autonomy, and true flexibility, without sacrificing the sophistication and resources of a top-tier legal organization. This position is a fully remote, reduced billable hour role (choose between 1500-1750) and may be performed from anywhere in California as long as you have the CA License.
You will be responsible for the full defense of administrative agency charges and attorney demand letters from inception through resolution. This includes direct client interaction, strategic assessment, and high-quality written advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
As a Labor & Employment Counsel you will independently manage a portfolio of administrative matters, including:
- Drafting persuasive position statements
- Responding to agency requests for information
- Leading remote mediations and settlement discussions
- Communicating directly with clients and administrative agencies
- Guiding matters from investigation through conclusion
Attorneys in this role benefit from:
- A reduced billable hour requirement of 1500 - 1750
- No business development expectations
- No required business-related travel

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- At least six years of employment law experience
- Experience handling administrative agency charges at the federal and state levels
- Demonstrated skill drafting strong, strategic position statements
- Experience representing clients in hearings and/or mediation
- An active bar license in California
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000, depending on experience and education. The role also includes eligibility for performance‑based bonuses. We also have a similar fully remote opening, focused on EPLI work that pays up to 240k so feel free to apply to inquire about this role as well.
