A well-established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join its growing Insurance Practice Group in either its Southlake or Fort Worth office. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside highly regarded insurance coverage attorneys on sophisticated coverage matters involving a broad range of commercial and liability insurance issues.
This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys analyzing complex coverage issues, providing strategic coverage advice, drafting coverage opinions, and representing insurers in declaratory judgment and coverage litigation.

Position Overview
The successful candidate will handle sophisticated third-party insurance coverage matters from inception through resolution. The attorney will work directly with clients, analyze policy language, evaluate coverage obligations, draft coverage opinions, and assist with litigation strategy in state and federal courts.
This position provides substantial client interaction and meaningful responsibility while working as part of an experienced insurance coverage team.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret commercial insurance policies and endorsements
- Evaluate complex third-party liability claims and coverage disputes
- Draft detailed coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and coverage position letters
- Advise insurers regarding coverage obligations and risk exposure
- Handle declaratory judgment actions and insurance coverage litigation
- Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other litigation filings
- Manage discovery, depositions, and case strategy in coverage-related matters
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding claim developments and litigation strategy
- Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on high-exposure insurance matters
- Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active Texas law license or eligibility for prompt admission
- 5+ years of insurance coverage experience
- Significant experience handling third-party insurance coverage matters
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Experience drafting insurance coverage opinions and coverage correspondence
- Excellent communication and client management abilities
- Ability to independently manage files while collaborating within a team environment
Preferred
- Experience handling commercial general liability (CGL), excess, umbrella, professional liability, construction defect, transportation, or other complex liability coverage matters
- Coverage litigation experience in state and federal courts
- Prior experience representing insurance carriers
- Deposition, mediation, and hearing experience
