Commercial Lending Attorney
A growing, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Lending / Finance Associate to join its sophisticated finance practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on a broad range of complex lending transactions while gaining significant deal responsibility and direct client exposure.
Commercial Lending Attorney Responsibilities
- Represent banks, financial institutions, private lenders, and borrowers in a variety of commercial finance transactions
- Draft and negotiate credit agreements, loan agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, guarantees, and other financing documents
- Handle secured and unsecured lending transactions, including acquisition financings, working capital facilities, and revolving and term loans
- Advise clients on collateral, lien, UCC, and other secured transaction matters
- Conduct due diligence and manage transactions from initial structuring through closing
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process
Commercial Lending Attorney Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial lending, banking, or finance experience
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Bar membership in good standing, or eligibility for admission in the applicable jurisdiction
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial loan and financing documentation
- Familiarity with secured transactions and Article 9 of the UCC
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and work effectively within deal teams
