Commercial Counsel
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead legal advisor for commercial and operational matters across U.S. and Canadian business operations.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including supply, purchase and sale, service, consulting, confidentiality, and joint venture agreements.
- Partner closely with business leaders and operational teams to provide practical legal guidance while balancing commercial objectives and risk management.
- Support strategic transactions, business development initiatives, and complex operational projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- Advise on legal and regulatory matters impacting day-to-day operations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
- Conduct legal research and provide business-focused recommendations on contracting, regulatory, and operational issues.
- Enhance contracting processes, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.
- Assist with corporate governance, subsidiary management, and broader compliance initiatives.
What They're Looking For
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership (Colorado admission preferred or ability to obtain licensure).
- 2-5 years of legal experience, either in-house or at a law firm.
- Strong background in commercial contracts, negotiations, transactional work, and business counseling.
- Experience supporting operational and commercial teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
