Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review complex estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies, charitable planning, and business succession.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, CPAs, and fiduciaries to develop comprehensive estate plans.
- Stay current on federal and state tax laws affecting estates and trusts.
- Provide guidance on probate and trust administration matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the North Carolina state bar (or ability to waive in).
- LLM in Taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in trusts and estates transactional/drafting work.
- Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws.
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client matters with professionalism and attention to detail.
