What You'll Do
- Partner with U.S. insurance regulators on regulatory matters, including inquiries, market conduct examinations, and financial examinations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with U.S. regulators
- Oversee governance for U.S.-based insurance companies
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to file new products and annual financial statements
- Support audits (internal and external) and licensing processes for individuals and entities
- Partner with business owners to design and implement initiatives in a fully compliant manner
- Advise leadership on regulatory risks and solutions
Requirements
- Law degree (strong academic pedigree preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance and insurance law
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience
- Proven experience engaging with insurance regulators
- Licensed in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance (preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong business judgment and ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to leaders and external partners
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills
