A long standing mid sized Accounting firm seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Accounting Supervisor to join their dynamic team. The Tax Accounting Supervisor will play a crucial role in gathering necessary items for tax returns, interacting with clients, managing due dates, and supervising and providing on-the-job training to staff. This role is hybrid 2 days in office in Chicago.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tax engagements from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax returns.
- Gather necessary information and documentation from clients for tax preparation.
- Interact with clients to address questions, provide guidance, and maintain positive relationships.
- Supervise and provide on-the-job training to staff members.
- Review tax returns prepared by staff members to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Manage due dates and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate guidance to clients.
- Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues as needed.
- Assist in developing tax planning strategies for clients.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive tax services to clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA eligibility is required.
- 2-7 years of experience as a tax senior/supervisor at a mid-size CPA firm.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- Experience managing tax engagements and interacting with clients.
- Experience in any of the following industries is preferred: manufacturing/distribution, construction, technology, real estate, professional services.
