Our client is looking for bring on a Financial Reporting and Regulatory Principal to bring leadership skills and relevant experience to a role with oversite and responsibility of financial reporting responsibilities.
The position will provide you with the freedom to shape your daily routine according to your preferences, all while collaborating with compassionate colleagues to fulfill the duties outlined below:
- Conduct research on the latest technical SEC disclosure directives and formulate strategies for their execution.
- Take on the responsibility of crafting communications addressed to the Board and Management Committee on behalf of the Financial Reporting team.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Policy and SEC legal departments to assess disclosure obligations pertaining to new GAAP standards and emerging business scenarios.
- Analyze market trends and pertinent data to inform disclosure decisions and benchmarking efforts. Evaluate reports for accuracy and punctuality, provide meaningful analysis, and clarify reporting outcomes.
- Develop guidelines for the creation and presentation of reports based on gathered information.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure that reports satisfy both business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support in reviewing compiled reports to ensure accuracy and offer insightful analysis.
Qualifications:
- 8 or more years' experience working in accounting policy or financial reporting
- Bachelor's degree and Master's in Finance or Accounting
- CPA required
Experience:
- Ability to understand our client's business model and can analyze and explain the financial results efficiently through verbal and written communication.
- Strong understanding of and experience working with SEC guidelines with the ability to research and apply them as necessary.
- Ability to conduct research of regulatory requirements and ensuring requirements are being complied with by company employees and clients, specifically working with GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Accounting software experience preferred.
- Independence to conduct own role and responsibilities.
This is a remote/hybrid role with presence in office for occasional company events 2-3 times per year (optional). Compensation for the role is dependent upon experience within a range of 145,000 to 196,000 annually with a discretionary bonus and benefits package.
