As a Business Counsel, you'll support the Senior Legal Counsel for NA by handling legal regulatory matters, contract reviews, and corporate governance. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the business unit's key stakeholders in NA, aiding in the company's growth.
Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring top-quality legal representation and collaborating with outside counsel when needed.
- Advising on environmental and regulatory issues in the chemical industry, conducting legal research, risk assessments, and on-site visits.
- Identifying and minimizing litigation or regulatory risks, aligning with the company's global strategy.
- Supporting HR with employment contracts, policy interpretation, and related matters.
- Reviewing and negotiating procurement agreements and drafting necessary documents.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited US university with deep knowledge of US law.
- 8+ years of post-graduate experience as Legal Counsel, including 3+ years in the chemical or related industry.
- Strong experience in handling NA issues, with a broad understanding of US law, including health, safety, and environmental law.
