Job Title: Trade Compliance Lead
Location: Rochester, NY or Arlington, VA
Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule (Every other Friday off)

About the Role:

We are partnered with a leading aerospace and defense technology organization that is looking to bring on a Trade Compliance Lead to oversee compliance matters within a key sector of the organization. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to U.S. Government trade laws and regulations while supporting international business opportunities. You will collaborate with the Licensing, Operations & Training, and Customs teams to develop and execute compliant business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve DoS license applications, ITAR exemptions, and EAR exceptions
  • Coordinate with product management and technical teams to provide necessary details for licensable products
  • Manage and track all DoS license approvals and maintain accurate records
  • Author DSP-5 Tech Data Letters for electronic exports
  • Review and approve new consultants, distributors, and representative agreements
  • Participate in Insider Threat Program Panel
  • Provide guidance on trade compliance policies and maintain a collaborative, transparent culture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience, or Graduate Degree with 7+ years; in lieu of a degree, 13+ years of related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with ITAR and EAR regulations
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with U.S. trade sanctions programs (OFAC)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of U.S. trade laws and risk management
  • Experience with OCR EASE
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player
