SVP, Registered Funds Counsel - Global Financial Services Platform
A leading Global Financial Services Platform is seeking a Senior Vice President, Registered Funds Counsel to join its Legal team in their New York City office. This role will play a key part in the continued build-out of the firm's growing Registered Funds practice and will report directly to the General Counsel, supporting the launch of newly registered fund products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the formation and launch of registered fund products, including RICs and BDCs.
- Draft and review fund formation documents, manage regulatory filings, and negotiate agreements with key service providers in collaboration with external counsel.
- Provide regulatory guidance on transactional matters, including structuring and compliance with SEC exemptive orders related to the Investment Company Act of 1940.
Required Skills:
- J.D., Bar membership and 5+ years of U.S. registered fund formation, governance, and transactions, ideally with a focus on alternative investment strategies and business development companies.
- Deep understanding of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and familiarity with reporting requirements under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
