Senior Legal Counsel (Singapore)

We are working with a fast-growing international life sciences company to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel. This is a strategic role for an experienced legal professional who thrives in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment and is passionate about supporting business growth through sound legal and regulatory guidance.

You'll be responsible for providing legal support across corporate governance, IP, regulatory compliance, and strategic transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their exposure to the biotech and life sciences sector while working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on corporate governance, M&A, IP, regulatory compliance, employment, and dispute resolution.
  • Manage and protect the company's IP portfolio, including patents and licensing agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate complex contracts, including R&D collaborations, clinical trial agreements, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and manage legal risks across global operations, particularly in biotech regulatory environments.
  • Ensure compliance with international health authorities and data privacy regulations (e.g. FDA, PMDA, NMPA).
  • Oversee litigation and dispute resolution matters in collaboration with external counsel.
  • Advise senior management and the Board on governance and securities law matters.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Operations teams to integrate legal considerations into business decisions.
  • Lead or support legal aspects of M&A, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 8-10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in-house in the biotech, life sciences, or pharmaceutical sector.
  • JD or equivalent law degree; admitted to practice in Singapore or a relevant common law jurisdiction.
  • Strong expertise in biotech regulations, IP law, contract law, and international compliance.
  • Experience with clinical trials, regulatory approvals, and health-related data privacy.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
