Senior Counsel - Global Alternative Investment Adviser
We are currently partnered with a leading Global Alternative Investment Advisor that is looking to hire a Senior Counsel to join its dynamic legal team in New York City. This position reports directly to the General Counsel and offers high visibility across senior leadership and key stakeholders, along with a clear path for accelerated career growth.
The Senior Counsel will collaborate closely with the investment team to manage the structuring, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of transactions, including structured credit, private asset-based lending, commercial real estate financing, and other complex investments.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, analyze, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements tied to structured finance transactions, commercial real estate financing, and various investment-related deals
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with investment managers, financial institutions, consultants, service providers, and vendors
- Support ongoing negotiations of transactional documentation, including ISDAs, MRAs, etc...
- Stay up-to-date on legal updates and emerging trends within the structured finance sector
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with active bar membership in New York
- 6+ years of relevant legal experience in asset management, institutional investing, or at a law firm with a focus on advising alternative asset managers
- Experience working with commercial real estate loan agreements, investment transaction documents, and securitization documents such as indentures and pooling and servicing agreements
- Background in structured finance, credit focused investments, banking and finance litigation, and securities litigation
