Labor & Employment Counsel (Remote)

Our client is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel to support a broad range of employment law matters across a national workforce. This role is primarily focused on managing administrative employment claims and partnering with HR and business leaders on day-to-day employment issues.

The position offers substantial flexibility and autonomy, making it well-suited for an attorney who prefers a practical counseling role and the opportunity to independently manage matters from intake through resolution.

Labor & Employment Counsel Responsibilities:

  • Manage EEOC, state agency, and other employment-related administrative charges.
  • Respond to agency inquiries, position statements, and investigations.
  • Advise HR and management on employee relations matters, performance management, disciplinary actions, accommodations, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and provide practical guidance on employment law compliance.
  • Review and assist in the development of employment policies, procedures, and workplace practices.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and provide guidance regarding legal developments.

Labor & Employment Counsel Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing.
  • 6+ years of labor and employment law experience.
  • Experience handling EEOC charges, administrative investigations, and employment counseling matters.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of matters efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Labor & Employment Counsel Benefits:

  • Fully remote work environment.
  • Significant flexibility in managing workload and schedule.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership over matters.
  • Regular interaction with business leaders and HR stakeholders.
  • Focus on counseling and administrative employment matters rather than traditional law firm practice.
