Real Estate & Development Senior Counsel
A leading U.S.-based renewable energy company is hiring a Senior Counsel to support real estate aspects of solar and energy storage project development. The company specializes in solar development, policy, and finance, and is committed to accelerating environmental progress through sustainable energy solutions.
Role Overview:
The Senior Counsel will play a key role in negotiating and drafting site control agreements, managing legal matters related to project real estate, and supporting broader commercial and corporate legal needs. This position reports to the General Counsel and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and draft leases, easements, and purchase agreements
- Conduct zoning, title, and survey reviews
- Manage real estate closings and lender diligence
- Resolve property-related issues including access, disputes, and environmental concerns
- Support commercial contracts, project finance, M&A, and litigation matters
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
- 4-8 years of experience in real estate transactions
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience in renewable energy
- Additional experience in project finance, procurement, or construction is a plus
