Lead Counsel - Investment Management Firm

A leading Investment Management firm is seeking a Lead Counsel to join its legal team working cross-functionally with C-suite and business leadership. This role offers high-level exposure to investment transactions, regulatory compliance, fund formation, and corporate strategy.

Responsibilities of Lead Counsel include:

  • Advising senior leadership and investment teams on complex legal matters
  • Supporting private equity, private debt, private funds, and SEC-related filings
  • Leading compliance program development and regulatory response efforts
  • Contributing to venture capital and M&A initiatives
  • Drafting and negotiating complex legal documents
  • Managing outside counsel and legal budgets

Requirements of the Lead Counsel include:

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • 4+ years of post-JD experience in law firm or in-house setting
  • Ohio Bar admission (or ability to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
