Employee Relations and Engagement Manager

A growing multi-state healthcare services organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Employee Relations & Engagement Manager to lead key HR initiatives across its regional footprint. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

The Manager will oversee employee relations investigations, engagement programming, performance management, and HR analytics. They will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, guiding sensitive employee matters, interpreting policy, and driving initiatives that enhance the employee experience. This role also includes direct supervision of HR team members, mentoring and developing talent, and supporting integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading employee relations investigations across multiple states, ensuring legal compliance and consistent resolution practices.
  • Designing and executing engagement strategies including town halls, surveys, and recognition programs to reinforce company values and improve retention.
  • Managing performance review cycles, including system setup, training, communications, and compensation analysis.
  • Analyzing HR data to identify trends and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Overseeing criminal background check processing in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Supervising HR staff, conducting regular check-ins, and creating individualized development plans.
  • Supporting HR operations such as policy updates, job description creation, unemployment claims, and compliance reporting.
  • Acting as the HRIS subject matter expert, ensuring system accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assisting with onboarding and cultural integration during acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and multi-state HR practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (ADP preferred).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel to regional offices as needed.
