Director of Compliance
My client is looking for a Director of Compliance to lead and manage our healthcare compliance program. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in healthcare compliance, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and CMS guidelines. Experience working within or alongside physician private equity platforms is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's comprehensive healthcare compliance program.
- Monitor and interpret changes in healthcare laws and regulations, ensuring timely updates to policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff, leadership, and physicians.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, including managing the internal reporting process and corrective action plans.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors.
- Collaborate with legal, operations, finance, and clinical teams to ensure compliance is integrated into all business practices.
- Provide strategic guidance on compliance matters related to physician alignment, joint ventures, and private equity-backed growth initiatives.
- Support due diligence and integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and affiliations, particularly within physician practice platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance
- Deep knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
- Experience with physician practice management, private equity-backed healthcare platforms, or multi-site healthcare organizations is a strong plus.
