Job Overview
A name brand digital asset trading platform company is expanding its growing legal team and is in search for a Crypto Attorney. In this position, you will play as a key contributor in ensuring the platform and various blockchain projects are in compliance with state and federal cryptocurrency laws and regulations, as well as support the business in new digital asset developments and issuance. This role reports directly to the General Counsel is located on-site in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply complex financial regulations to digital asset initiatives, including virtual currencies, tokenized instruments, and decentralized applications
- Advise internal stakeholders on the legal implications of launching and managing blockchain-based products and services
- Identify potential legal exposures in emerging tech projects and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with business goals
- Design and implement internal governance frameworks to support compliance with financial crime prevention laws and digital asset regulations
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) and eligibility to practice law in the U.S. (Florida Bar preferred)
- 3+ years of legal experience, with a focus on fintech, digital assets, or financial regulations
- Familiarity with U.S. regulatory bodies and frameworks (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FinCEN)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate legal concepts for technical and non-legal audiences
