Associate General Counsel - Leading Real Estate Development Firm (Multiple Locations)
We are currently partnered with one of the country's leading real estate developers and owners that is looking to bring an Associate General Counsel on to join their team. This mission-driven organization is rapidly growing, and looking to add a seasoned attorney with deep expertise in affordable housing and multifamily real estate transactions to their dynamic legal team. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different matters related to affordable housing transactions and also work cross functionally with various business units within the firm.
This Associate General Counsel is able to sit out of one of their three locations on the East Coast - Washington DC, New York City, or Boston.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage legal aspects of complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
- Work on real estate and housing development transactions, including financial structuring, title and real estate conveyancing, and closing complex financings
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and strategies related to multifamily development transactional matters
- Collaborate with and oversee outside counsel, lenders, and government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory and funding requirements
- Support organizational initiatives related to community development and affordable housing preservation
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one location listed above
- 4-6 years of experience, spefically in affordable housing financing transactions or commercial multifamily transactions
- Experience with LIHTC, construction contracts, fair housing, real estate law, and general corporate law
